— LAD SUMMER EVENTS —
Friday, August 28 — LAD will have a booth at Unity in the Community, 4–8pm, 4th & Kimbark, Longmont.
LAD meetings are via zoom, normally the first Wednesday of every month, except for July, when we need a break from all of our summer events, & August, when we walk in the Boulder County Fair Parade, and have our Annual Summer Gathering mid August (on a weekend). Zoom makes meetings easier to attend, and we’re able to record them (then upload the videos onto youtube, for others to enjoy). A few times a year, our monthly meetings are in person, and are usually at Front Range Community College (FRCC) in Longmont.
EXCEPTIONS: If our January’s first Wednesday lands on New Year’s or New Year’s Eve, we won’t schedule a meeting. If Passover is happening on a first Wednesday, we’ll reschedule. If the first Wednesday in November lands before an election, we’ll have a meeting, otherwise, we’ll most likely be resting (several of our Board members, and attendees are precinct organizers and area coordinators, so many of us are busy with GOTV). Our December meeting is our Holiday Celebration (and business meeting) convened for members to vote and is usually scheduled on a weekend.
LAD is very active with booth events, that begin with April’s Take Back the Night at FRCC, and continue throughout the summer. Booth events give us a chance to meet folks in person, answer questions face-t0-face, and socialize! For many years LAD has happily had booths at Cinco de Mayo in May, Juneteenth and Pride in June, and occasionally, we’ve shared a booth at Unity in the Community in August.
Event details can be found on this website, as they become available, or in our email blasts, which are regularly posted in the center of this website’s home page. Resources, slides, and links from previous meetings can be found under the resources widget, here.
