So we’ll have the two democratic candidates for District O at our meeting: Audrey DeBarros and Jack Rosenthal, to talk about their campaigns, and answer questions.
And, you might have heard: COCO is coming to Longmont! The Colorado Connector is the culmination of decades of work, plenty of foot dragging — EXTREME patience from Longmont residents (who voted for rail in 2004!), but ultimately collaboration — and tireless advocacy of many grassroots activists. But especially, Karen Benker, former and present RTD Board Director, and Joan Peck, former Mayor of Longmont — experienced, longtime advocates for passenger rail, who will join us to give us the LATEST SCOOP! (The Front Range Passenger Rail District board voted 14-1 on August 28, to place the measure on your Nov. 3 ballot.)
And speaking of ballot measures, we’ll have Mark Lester, from Rocky Mountain Equality, to talk about their Hands Off Colorado campaign against THREE egregious Nov. 3 ballot measures — and how you can help DEFEAT them!
