NEXT LAD MEETING — Unions: Democracy’s Bulwark, THIS Wednesday, May 7, 6:30pm, via zoom. What is a “bulwark”? It’s a defensive wall, a fortification that protects. And nothing is more effective at protecting our democracy than unions. We’ll have Alejandra Beatty, from the Boulder Area Labor Council, on hand to discuss economic justice for working families right here at home. LAD Board members Stan Gelb and Beth Utton will present on unions being our best defense against oligarchy and the crush of sinister and deceptive billionaires. As part of our regular Shine a Light series, we’ll have Emily Kleeman, from The Reentry Initiative, a Longmont nonprofit, which provides critical, caring, and transformative support for the formerly incarcerated. And in the process, empowering and invigorating what it means to have true community. We’ll also discuss ways to leverage the current protest momentum, a mini state legislative update, and MORE!
SO PLEASE JOIN US, and please…tell a friend! Our LAD meetings are all about community, connection, and offering inspiration, as we work together in defending and protecting our beloved and shared democracy! THIS Wednesday, 6:30pm, via zoom. The zoom link will be sent in this blast on Wednesday at 9am and 6pm!
