In this, LADs 20th year, we remember back years ago, when folks used to poke their heads in our meetings at Front Range, and say, “THERE ARE DEMOCRATS IN LONGMONT??”
Well, IMAGINE FIRESTONE TODAY.
State Rep. Parenti’s amazing win (her district includes East Longmont and Firestone) — flipping a seat from a republican, and her STELLAR first session in our legislature — would NOT have been possible, if Democrats and democracy-minded unaffiliateds had not shown up to VOTE.
Here in Longmont, we know what it’s like to live in a very red city, AND WHAT IT TAKES to encourage Democrats and unaffiliated voters to VOTE — especially when voters think their vote doesn’t matter.
