LAD Meeting: Wednesday, April 7, 6:30pm!

THANKS to all the folks who attended, and to our presenters!  All presentation materials from the meeting can be found under the “resources” widget to the left, thanks!

As the murder trial of former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin unfolds, we’ll hear a presentation from ACLU Colorado’s Jessica Howard, who will discuss how divestment from systems that harm human beings, then directing resources to critically needed services — can transform communities like Longmont, and their ability to thrive. (Longmont will be hiring a new Public Safety Chief soon, to replace Mike Butler, who has retired.)

We will also have State Representative Leslie Herod on hand, who sponsored the landmark SB20-217, Colorado’s own policing reform bill just last summer. Rep. Herod has a full session again, being the criminal justice reform “She-ro” we know her to be, and she’ll tell us about what she’s working on.

With plenty of time for questions, and as always, we’ll give you inside updates and action items!

SO JOIN US…and please, tell a friend! THIS WEDNESDAY, April 7, 6:30pm — we’ll send the link Wednesday morning!

THANKS FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!
