A Regular Meeting of the Members of Longmont Area Democrats was held July 2, 2008 iin the back yard of the home of Bob Roy, 2100 Santa Fe Drive, Longmont, Colorado 80501, commencing at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The meeting was called to order by President Marilyn Hughes who presided. Board Secretary Jack Wolfe, acted as Secretary of the meeting.
In excess of sixty adult members and guests were present. Included were State Senator Brandon Shaffer, and State Representative Paul Weisman and his family.
GUEST SPEAKER
President Hughes thanked everyone for coming to the annual summer picnic, and introduced Colorado State Democratic Party Chair Pat Waak, who talked about recent events, including the talk given by Presidential Candidate Barak Obama that morning in Colorado Springs. She also talked about the upcoming National Democratic Convention to be held in Denver in August, and recognized the local delegates to the Convention. Pat’s comments were cut short by an approaching rain storm but private discussions continued in Bob’s house and garage.
NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be September 3, 2008 at the Longmont Public Works Building.
ADJOURN
The meeting adjourned hastily at approximately 8:00 p.m, and private discussions continued after the meeting.
